Long Beans
GROWTH CONDITIONS
Plants grow well in soil Latosol / sandy loam, fertile, friable, contain lots of organic matter and good drainage, pH around 5.5 to 6.5. Temperatures between 20-30 degrees Celsius, dry climate, rainfall between 600-1500 mm / year and the optimum height of less than 800 m above sea level.
SEEDLINGS
- Seed beans are good quality and are as follows: appearance pithy / dull, high germination above 85%, not damaged / defective, do not contain any outbreak of pests and diseases. The need seeds for a hectare of between 15-20 kg.
- The seeds do not planted specifically, but planting the seeds directly in the prepared planting hole.
PLANTING MEDIA PROCESSING
- Clean the area of the weeds, hoe / plowed up the soil becomes loose.
- Make beds with size of 60-80 cm wide, the distance between beds of 30 cm, height 30 cm, depending on the land. For system wide basis guludan 30-40 cm and width of 30-50 cm, 30 cm high and 30-40 cm distance between guludan
- Perform calcification if the soil pH is lower than 5.5 with dolomite as much as 1-2 tons / ha and mix evenly with the ground at a depth of 30 cm
- Pour fertilizer NASA POC that has been mixed with water evenly over the beds with a dose ± 1 bottle (500 cc) NASA POC diluted with enough water for each 1000 m 2 (10 bottles / ha). Results would be great if you use SUPER NASA, how to use it as follows:
alternative 1: 1 bottle of Super Nasa diluted in 3 liters of water used as mother liquor. Then every 50 liters of water were given 200 cc of mother liquor was to flush the bed.
alternative 2: every one yells vol 10 lt given 1 tablespoon of Super Nasa pressed to flush the 10-meter bed.
PLANTING TECHNIQUES
- Distance to the type of vine planting hole is 20 x 50 cm, 40 x 60 cm, 30 x 40 cm. Spacing and type of upright is 20 x 40 cm and 30 x 60 cm.
- A good planting time is early dry season / early rainy season, but all season long can be sufficient soil water
- Seeds soaked NASA POC dose of 2 caps / liter for 0.5 hours then drain
- Seeds are inserted into the planting hole as much as 2 seeds, cover with a thin soil / kitchen with ash.
Stitching
Bean seeds will grow 3-5 days after planting. The seeds are not growing quickly embroidered.
Weeding
Weeding done at 2-3 weeks old plants after planting, depending on the growth of grass in the garden. Weeding by pulling weeds / cleaning with tools kored.
Trimming / PEREMPELAN
Beans that are too dense to be held pruning of leaves and stem ends. Plants that are too dense to inhibit the growth of flowers.
Fertilization
Dose of fertilizer macro as follows:
Fertilizer Dose Time Macro (per ha)
Urea (kg) SP-36 (kg) KCl (kg)
Basic 50 75 25
Age 45 days 50 25 75
TOTAL 100 100 100
Note: Or the appropriate local recommendations.
Manure fertilizer is given in the hole located on either side of the planting hole. The amount of fertilizer for a given plant depends on the spacing
NASA POC is given 1-2 weeks since the plants were 2 weeks, by spray (4-8 cap NASA POC / tank). Total requirement for maintenance of NASA POC 1-2 bottles per 1000 M2 (10-20 bottles / ha). It would be nice if the use of POC NASA added HORMONIK (3-4 cap NASA POC HORMONIK + 1 cap / tank). At the time of flowering plants do not spraying, because it can interfere with pollination (can be splashed with a dose tutup/10 + 2 liters of water).
Irrigation
In the initial phase of the growth of seeds to young plants, watering is done routinely every day. Watering depends on the next season.
PEST AND DISEASE MANAGEMENT
a. Bean fly (Ophiomya phaseoli Tryon)
Symptoms: there are white spots around the bones of leaves, stunted growth of infected plants and leaves a yellowish, base of the stem occurs secondary roots and swollen. Control: by means of crop rotation instead of the family nuts and spraying with PESTONA.
b. Aphids (Aphis cracivora Koch)
Symptoms: delayed growth due to pests suck plant cell fluids and decreased yields. Lice clustered at the top of the plant and act as viral vectors. Control: with crop rotation with crops of beans instead of family and spraying Natural BVR
c. Grayak caterpillar (Spodoptera litura F.)
Symptoms: leaf perforated with uncertain size, heavy attack in the dry season, also attack pods. Control: a technical culture, crop rotation, planting in unison, Natural Spray VITURA
d. Grain borer (Callosobruchus maculatus L.)
Symptoms: seeds marred with holes, crushed to 90%. Control: to clean up and destroy the remnants of plant pests hiding place. Chickpea seeds were treated corn oil 10 cc / kg of seed.
e. Caterpillars interest (Maruca testualis)
Symptoms: The larvae attack the flower is open, then eat the pod. Control: with crop rotation and maintain the cleanliness of the garden from the remains of plants. Sprayed with PESTONA
f. Antraknose diseases (fungal Colletotricum lindemuthianum)
Attack symptoms can be observed in the new seedlings berkecamabah, a kind of cancer is brown on the stem and seed pieces. Control: with crop rotation, seed treatment before planting with Natural GLIO and POC NASA and dispose of weeds from around plants.
g. Mosaic disease (Cowpea aphid borne viruses Viruses / CAMV).
Symptoms: young leaves in the picture there is a mosaic of color does not irregular. The disease is transmitted by vector aphids. Control: use of healthy seeds and virus-free, vector aphids and spray the affected plants removed and burned.
h. Broom disease (Cowpea Witches-broom virus Virus / Cowpea Stunt Virus.)
Symptoms: stunted plant growth, sections (books) is very short stems, axillary buds and the shortened form "broom". Aphids transmitted diseases. Control: same as the mosaic disease control.
i. Bacterial wilt (Pseudomonas solanacearum)
Symptoms: sudden plant wilt and plant death menyeabkan heavy attack. Control: with crop rotation, drainage improvements and pull the dead plants and use Natural GLIO in the early planting.
HARVEST AND POST-harvest
- The characteristics of pods ready for harvest is already the maximum size of peas, easily broken and the seeds inside the pods are not prominent
- Harvest time is best in the morning / afternoon. Age of plants ready for harvest from 3.5 to 4 months
- How to harvest the bean crop types propagate by cutting the fruit stalk with a sharp knife.
- After the harvest, long bean pods were collected at the shelter, then sorted
- Long bean pods are tied with a maximum weight of 1 kg and is ready for market.
